Questions

What people ask us

Can I get rid of pests myself with store-bought sprays?

Sometimes, for a few ants or a lone spider. But sprays often kill only what you can see. The rest of the nest stays hidden in walls, attics or crawl spaces. In older homes, gaps and past repairs give pests many places to hide. If the problem comes back within a couple of weeks, it is time to ask a local provider.

Why do pests seem to love older houses so much?

Older houses often have small gaps around pipes, worn wood, old vents and layers of past repairs. Pests find these spots easily. Mill-era homes with crawl spaces can also hold damp, dark areas that bugs and mice like. This is not a sign of bad housekeeping. A provider can check the whole house and show you where pests are getting in.

What should I expect during a first visit from a provider?

The provider usually starts by asking what you have seen and where. Then they look around inside and outside, often including the attic, crawl space and foundation. They explain what they found, what they suggest and what it may cost. You should get a written quote. Ask questions at any point. A good visit feels calm and clear, never rushed.

How do I choose a pest control provider I can trust?

Ask whether the provider is licensed in your state and carries insurance. Ask what products they use and whether the quote is in writing. Make sure they explain the plan in plain words. Be careful with anyone who pressures you to sign right away. Borednope Pest Control connects you with independent providers, but the final choice is always yours.

How quickly can someone come out to my home?

It depends on the provider and the season. Many providers can respond quickly, but we cannot promise a set time. Request a callback to check provider availability, or send a request through the form. Tell them if your schedule is tight. Most providers will work around school runs, jobs and family routines.

Will the treatment disrupt my family's daily routine?

Most visits are fairly short, and many treatments need little change to your day. Some jobs ask you to keep kids and pets out of one area for a while. Tell the provider about your family schedule up front. Plan around your day, and ask for clear steps to follow before and after the visit.

Do providers also handle wildlife and bed bugs?

Many providers in our network handle more than insects. Some offer wildlife removal for animals in attics or walls. Others offer bed bug treatment. Not every provider does every service. When you send your request, describe what you are seeing, and we will point you toward a provider who fits.

How much does pest control usually cost?

Costs vary a lot by pest, home size and how bad the problem is. In the U.S., a basic one-time treatment may run from about $100 to $300. Termite work often costs more, sometimes well over $1,000. These are only typical ranges. Always ask for a written quote and what it includes before you agree to anything.
